About the Building
Glass Miami Beach has so many things going for it, from its prime neighborhood to its award-winning architect and acclaimed developer. But what really defines luxury here is that this dramatic tower of glass is home to only ten stunning residences.
Soaring 212 feet, Glass Miami Beach was designed to reflect and respond to the natural elements of the skyline. The exterior’s fritted, mirrored surface in a vertical striped pattern provides shade and privacy while allowing cooled, natural light to stream in. The iconic residential boutique offers just ten finely appointed, glass-enclosed homes, each on its own private floor with spectacular, 360-degree ocean and city views. The six-star luxury property rises in Miami Beach’s vibrant South of 5th community, echoing the sand, sea and sky through its unique design, materials, natural textures and tonal color.
The lobby floor depicts a beach scene, with blue macauba stone resembling water washed ashore to keystone, which is fashioned to represent sand. The organic design is complemented by environment-sensitive grounds sculpted by landscape architect Raymond Jungles, a local mastermind who has received worldwide acclaim for his innovative use of native plants, minimal hardscapes and color planes resembling art canvases.
Valets and residents remain in their cars during elevator rides to parking garages located on lower levels. The ascension is marked by an interactive art installation from Ivan Toth Depeña that symbolizes the transition from water to sky.
Glass Miami Beach is garnering a ton of buzz. The tower represents haute design to the level of art-insider approval. It sits steps from the ocean and next door to Prime 112 steak house in Miami Beach’s most coveted neighborhood. Unlike many luxury properties being designed here by outsiders, Glass is the vision of one of the region’s most groundbreaking architects, who understands the landscape and lifestyle that make South Florida so attractive. Since founding his firm in 1997, Rene Gonzalez has amassed numerous awards for high-profile projects.
A triplex penthouse with a private pool crowns its nine floor-through units. The residences, fully finished with Gonzalez’s handpicked materials, are akin to spacious, standalone homes. His expertise is also available for more in-depth interior architecture and design services.
The first five floors of the luxury Miami Beach condo are dedicated to common areas. Gonzalez’s affinity for art is seen in several works purchased for the property. An art-related store, fitness center and yoga room are located at lobby level, which combines two stories for a grander effect.
A mesmerizing video installation showing patterns of light underwater animates the ceiling of the pool lobby. Residents have their choice of an infinity pool and deck with unobstructed views of the Atlantic… or, a private, Glass-only section of the beach where butlers attend to chaise lounges, towels and beverages, including cocktails.
“Architecture is both a reflection and an extension of a specific location. The result is a place that feels soulful. The idea is to develop a deep and meaningful relationship between people and their built environment.” – Rene Gonzalez
